Baddesley Clinton House

Baddesley Clinton was the home of the Ferrers family for 500 years. Much of the house you see today was built by Henry Ferrers, a lawyer, diarist and antiquarian, in the late 1500s. The house was a sanctuary not only for the Ferrers family, but also for persectued Catholics who were hidden from priest hunters in its secret hiding places during the 1590s.

Suzannah will talk to readers about both her latest paperback, The May Bride, which tells the story of the young Jane Seymour growing up at Wolf hall, and her new hardback, The Lady of Misrule, the tale of Lady Jane Grey's imprisonment in the Tower of London, after ruling England for only nine days.

We are delighted to team up with bestselling author Suzannah Dunn to bring you this exclusive event, at which she will talk to readers about both her latest paperback, The May Bride, which tells the story of the young Jane Seymour growing up at Wolf Hall, and her new hardback, The Lady of Misrule, the tale of Lady Jane Grey's imprisonment in the Tower of London, after ruling only nine days.

Suzannah's historical fiction brings the past to life - just like stepping through the doorway of a National Trust house. Guests will be served afternoon tea and champagne on arrival, followed by a talk by Suzannah on why the Tudor period still fascinates and enthrals us.

Suzannah Dunn – described by The Times this weekend as having ‘fizz and wit’ and ‘a fresh take on a well-known tale’, for her latest bestselling novel, of the life of Lady Jane Grey, will visit other National Trust properties in the coming months. This is the first time that a historical novelist has toured with National Trust properties.
