Kentwell Hall is a romantic, moated, mellow red brick Tudor mansion in a tranquil parkland setting.
Our Tudor days are unrivalled in scale, visitors immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and smells of the 16th century. Kentwell is the originator of historical life Tudor events. With over 30 years experience, we offer the biggest, most comprehensive and authentic Tudor experience anywhere. Life is re-created on a community scale; our entire historic house and estate are transformed into a 16th century manor, with up to 250 inhabitants of all ages, skills and wealth carrying out a huge variety of daily tasks.
The Michaelmas Re-Creation
This is a smaller version of the Great Annual Re-Creation. Although it has fewer Tudors taking part and less activities, there is usually a good spread of each.
It carries through as many of the Great Annual Re-Creation's themes and activities as possible. We usually expect about 100 Tudors to take part. There is usually some activity on the Front Sward, in the House, much in the Moat House and some in the Gardens & Farm areas.
Many visitors tell us they prefer the more intimate nature of this Event which often has almost as wide a spread of activities as the Great Annual. It is especially popular with those who find the size of the Great Annual Re-Creation and, even, the High Summer Re-Creation just too much.
